Details and Requirements for completing the SET METHOD Teacher Training:

The SET Method requires a very high standard for it’s Pilates Instructors and those seeking to

become certified must complete the following:

Pre Requisites:

-Must have reviewed and have an understanding of basic anatomy and kinesiology. This will be

reviewed in the training however, 20 hours of study is recommended prior to the start date of the

training so the student is familiar with anatomical terms and definitions as well as movement

patterns and deviations prior to the start of this course. All materials will be given to the student

upon registration in promise to set them up for success!

-Must pass the anatomy portion of the test with an 85% or greater which will be given on the last

day of the first weekend of the mat/ reformer part of the course.

-Students must also pass two physical tests demonstrating their ability to properly perform the

exercises themselves as well as instruct a full session using a variety of the apparatus. The first

physical test will be done at the end of the in person training and students will be given 3

exercises chosen at random that they must perform and discuss the movement pattern, muscle

focus, the proper breathing, and any necessary modifications. The second physical test may

also be done at the end of the weekend if students feel ready, however they will have up to 6

months after completing their in person training to teach a full 50 minute session which they can

schedule directly with Sarah Thomason. There are no additional costs for test outs, however if

the student does not pass and needs to retake the test, there will be an additional fee of

$150.00.
